Gulab Jamun

Ingredients

  • Sugar
  • Khoya (or milk powder)
  • Oil

Recipe

  1. Make a soft dough with khoya (or milk powder) and shape into small balls.
  2. Heat ghee and fry balls on low flame till golden brown.
  3. Prepare sugar syrup with water + sugar.
  4. Soak fried balls in warm syrup, serve.

Jalebi

Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour (maida)
  • Sugar
  • Ghee (for frying)

Recipe

  1. Make a thick batter with flour (ferment if needed).
  2. Heat ghee in a pan.
  3. Pipe batter in spiral shapes into hot ghee and fry.
  4. Dip hot jalebis in sugar syrup, serve.

  • Cashews

Recipe

  1. Grind cashews into a fine powder.
  2. Boil sugar with little water to make syrup.
  3. Mix cashew powder into syrup, stir till thick.
  4. Spread, cool, cut into diamond shapes.
